Cheryl Cole's step-father has revealed that he found out about the singer's wedding to Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini on Facebook.
Just like the rest of us, some of her family members have told The Mirror they discovered that Chezza had tied the knot yesterday, adding that only a small group were aware of the wedding.
It is thought only four people were present at the ceremony - thought to have been held on a beach in Mustique on July 7 - including the X Factor judge's mum Joan and her PA Lily England.
When asked about his daughter's surprise nuptials, Garry Tweedy told the tabloid: "She has left it for a while before making it public because she just wanted it to be kept completely private.
"I knew about it but Cheryl did that quite deliberately. And it worked."
Her stepfather Anthony Leighton added: "I am over the moon for her. If she's happy then I'm happy. It is a right surprise. She's lovely and I am really happy for her.
"I found out through Facebook, she doesn't bother with us much. She phones her sister and she phones her brother sometimes, but what we hear is just back and forward."
He added: "This is a bit of a surprise for everyone. I'm pleased for her."
