Kim Kardashian just confirmed that hubby Kanye West was indeed super instrumental in turning her into one of today’s most stylish celebs—and it sounds like he was pretty ruthless throughout the makeover process.
“When we first started dating he went through my closet, and he had a stylist come in and they put everything he thought wasn’t cool enough in a pile. I walked in and it was like a pile to the ceiling of shoes, all my amazing shoes that I loved. I started crying,” she explained on Live! With Kelly and Michael yesterday. “I put it all in another room and I was like, ‘I’ll trust your opinion, but I’m not getting rid of my stuff.’ Then I walk in my room and there was an entire room filled of all new clothes, of all the stuff he wanted to fill back up my closet with. It was really cool new designer stuff, I hadn’t even heard of some of these designers before, and it really helped me fall in love with fashion.”

Kanye didn’t stop after the initial round either—he nixed the Balmain pantsuit she planned on wearing onLive! right before Kim walked out the door, telling her “I think you should be a little more simple today.”
Lest the world think its favorite selfie-taker is totally at the hands of Kanye, know that she sticks up for herself too. “Sometimes I tell him to dress it up a little bit,” she said, calling her hubby’s style “very simple.” And when he tried to also advise her on hair after the Balmain switcheroo, she stuck to her guns, telling him “You only get one thing: outfit or glam.”
Oh, and Kim admitted she did eventually get rid of most of the stuff from that initial purge (maybe it’s what the world’s been buying on eBay).
