Time heals all wounds, but it certainly doesn't stop everyone's curiosity.
More than three years after separating from Russell Brand, Katy Perry is still being asked about her ex-husband. But in her latest interview with the Daily Telegraph, the "Firework" singer teases fans that anything that needs to be said will be heard through her music.
"He hasn't spoken to me since he texted me saying he was filing for divorce," she told the publication. "I don't want to talk about him—my songs will say what I need to say."
The candid confession, which she first revealed in Vogue, has left some to wonder if high-profile relationships can last with high-profile men. With a visible sign, Perry admitted she always thought ladies could have both love and success.
"For a modern woman, it's important to be supported and that there is equality in every aspect," she explained. "And it's no two halves that make a whole. It's two wholes that make a whole."
While Perry remains coy about her relationship status today, the Grammy nominee still has high hopes at finding another special guy in her future. In fact, if you think the 30-year-old beauty worries about falling in love again, she begs to differ.
"No, absolutely not," she confessed. "I'm excited by whatever it brings. I'm excited by my own evolution."
As of now, that evolution doesn't include making babies anytime soon.
Perry said when she becomes a mother, she wants to be "dedicated to that" and not worry about music. Besides, her personal and professional life is still a work in progress.
"I don't want to end up bittersweet. I have to evolve, I have to continue to push people's perceptions of me," she explained. "As an artist I like to do that, keep people on the edge of their seats."
