Mark Wahlberg and family apologise for not attending brother Donnie and Jenny McCarthy's

The actor and his family apologised for missing their nuptials and sent their congrats to the couple

It was rumoured that Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg skipped his brother Donnie and Jenny McCarthy's wedding because he and his wife Rhea didn't see eye-to-eye with Jenny.

But a spokesperson for Mark, 43, said he couldn't attend because he was throwing his 10-year-old daughter Ella a birthday party in Los Angeles as he will be busy filming in Boston when she turns 11 on Tuesday.

Together with wife Rhea and his four young kids, the Wahlbergs sent their congratulations and apologies to the newlywed couple via a short video clip shot in their home that he uploaded to his social media accounts.

"Congratulations guys! Congratulations from all of us! We wish we could be there - it's Ella's birthday today, she's 11," Donnie's little brother says.

"I love you Donnie. I'm very happy for you. Sorry I couldn't be there, I'll see you soon."

Donnie replied: "Thank you @mark_wahlberg. Thanks to you & @rheadur for the adorable video for me & Jenny! Please with a Happy B-Day to my god daughter Ella!

Shortly before that he also tweeted: "Congratulations @DonnieWahlberg and @JennyMcCarthy, so happy for you both today."

Meanwhile, It is also believed Donnie's mother Alma and his brother Robert, 46, will also not be present when the pair become husband and wife.

However, Donnie, 45, and Jenny, 41, who got engaged in April, recently claimed they were struggling to cut down their guest-list as they had too many friends and family coming to the ceremony.

The blonde beauty said previously: "The hardest part is we have to cut down the wedding list, because the place we're getting married at, it's very boutique. With Donnie's 800 relatives - yes, 800. I've got 6,000 McCarthys.

"It's going to be hard to really cut down that list so I'm trying to make sure the core group is there."
