Drake and Chris Brown have been reportedly working on a collaboration after a photo of the two hanging out in a recording studio was uploaded on Instagram by Rap Radar's Elliott Wilson Friday, July 11.
Both R&B recording artists dated Rihanna in the past. In fact, the two were involved in a violent bar brawl allegedly over the "Diamonds" singer at the W.i.P nightclub in New York City back in June 2012, TMZ noted.
But the 27-year-old "Hold On, We're Going Home" singer seemed to have moved on from his relationship with Rihanna, because he is no longer allowing anyone, not even his ex-girlfriend, to hinder any of his career move.
"He's sure Rihanna doesn't agree with him working with Chris, but at the end of the day, he's going to make his own decisions," a source close to Drake told Hollywood Life. "And like he told Rihanna from the jump, he's about his music and that comes first - even if it is doing a collab with Chris."
"He never really discussed Chris when he was with Rihanna because, I mean, there was really no point," added the source. "He didn't really want to listen to her tell stories about him either but he did because he felt like that was his job in that role as her man at the time."
Drake is currently working in the studio, laying down the tracks for the upcoming album of the 25-year-old "Turn Up the Music" singer.
Drake will provide vocals on some of the songs and will also produce the set, according to a new report by TMZ.
By working with Drake, Brown will continue to have the privilege to be affiliated with the record label Young Money Entertainment, and that means a collaboration with Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj are always possible. In fact, rapper Tyga, who is also part of the record label, was also in the same studio when Drake and Brown were photographed hanging out together.
