Fallout continues for 'Scandal' and '7th Heaven' actor who is the subject of serious sexual conduct allegations.
Stephen Collins, the '7th Heaven' actor who is currently under huge pressure following recent allegations of child molestation, has been dropped by his talent agency. His agent Jeff Witjas, a representative for the Agency for Performing Arts, informed Collins on Friday evening of their decision, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
This decision was taken just a few days after evidence surfaced on the internet of Collins apparently confessing to molesting several young girls. The audio clip is said to have been recorded in 2012 during a therapy session in which his now ex-wife Faye Grant was in attendance.
The fallout of the allegations which surfaced earlier in the week has been very swift. Collins’ forthcoming return to ABC’s drama ‘Scandal’ has been cancelled during the last few days. The network announced that the footage of the actor filmed during sessions last month will not be used at all. Collins has also been fired from the planned follow-up to the Seth Macfarlane comedy movie Ted.
Furthermore, TV Guide Network and UPTV have announced that they will no longer show re-runs of the show for which Collins is best known, ‘7th Heaven’. He played the Protestant minister and family man Eric Camden for eleven seasons, from 1996 to 2007. Collins has also resigned from the National Board of the Screen Actors Guild.
Further reports suggest that the fallen actor wrote a couple of erotic novels decades ago, both of which were little known before today. They have both been sifted through and had some of their more explicit passages exposed through online sources.
The incidents apparently took place nearly 40 years ago, though it was only in the therapy session two years ago that they came to light and they were recorded by Grant, unbeknownst to Collins. The New York Police Department reportedly has possession of the tape, and is working with Grant alongside counterparts in Los Angeles.
