Daniel Radcliffe Opens Up About Love and Girlfriend Erin Darke: "It's a Wonderful Thing"

Daniel Radcliffe is quite the romantic!

The actor opened up on the idea of love and his relationship with Erin Darke during an interview with Parade, where he was promoting his upcoming romantic comedy What If. And while Radcliffe was always dreamy in his own right, he will probably make your hearts absolutely melt after reading what he has to say about romance.

Noting that technology has played a part in making dating harder, the Harry Potter star added, "The way we talk online is less personal, less about actual communication, and often not representative of who we are. That technology is supposed to be about bringing people together. In terms of hooking up, I suppose it is and does."

So how does one know when somebody loves them?

"It's very, very hard to know. We all grow up with an idea of what love is. It's this all-conquering thing that when you find it, all the other problems you have will be overwhelmed and conquered by it," Daniel said. "Part of the process of growing up is realizing that that's not how it works.

"Actually, there are lots of other things that need to be put into a relationship as well [as love]. Especially if you're in that situation where you are a friend and are thinking about potentially jeopardizing your friendship for something [more]. That is a situation which most people are in at some point."

Regardless, the blue-eyed Hollywood star has found love himself with former co-star Darke, and he said it was all just very easy.

"We met on the set of Kill Your Darlings, and just got on immediately. It was one of those instant things where you're like, ‘Oh, I really like this person.' You just have a connection with somebody, and then suddenly it's incredibly easy to talk to them. It was one of those sort of situations."

He continued, "Yes. Because there's just been an ease in conversation, a relaxed quality to it. I'm not a very chilled-out person a lot of the time. But there's a relaxed quality to our conversation. There's no effort in it. It's totally flowing. It's a wonderful thing."

What If is in theaters now.
