The "Saturday Night Live" cast is down one funnyman. Brooks Wheelan, who joined the show for its 39th season, tweeted Monday that he'd been cut from the long-running NBC sketch show.
Wheelan, 27, was known for his appearances on Weekend Update, where he created public service announcements against irresponsible behavior, and for impersonations of Jared Leto, Harry Styles and Slash, among other celebs. Prior to becoming one of the show's featured players, he made his name as a stand-up comedian.
The funnyman received some sympathy and support from director Judd Apatow after the comic revealed the news.
