Scarlett Johansson is coming to your television.
The actress and new mom will star in and executive produce Sony Pictures TV's limited series "Custom of the Country."
Based on Edith Wharton's 1913 novel of the same name, the eight-episode period drama is about to hit the marketplace, Deadline reports, and is being eyed for a cable run, possibly on premium cable.
The story follows Undine Spragg (Johansson) and her ruthless, unscrupulous rise to the top of New York's high society. British playwright-screenwriter Christopher Hampton ("Atonement") will adapt the novel for the screen.
This project marks Johansson's first major television role.
