Lady Gaga displays her toned legs in a decorated kimono minidress

She's always been a fan of costume dressing, but Lady Gaga has taken a few sartorial notes from this weekend's Met Gala 2015.

The 29-year-old, who picked two ensembles to suit the Chinese Whispers theme on Monday night, stepped out in a decorated kimono dress the next day to continue the oriental inspiration.

Gaga showed off her toned legs as she strutted through New York City with a smile on her face, a pair of mirrored sunglasses on her nose as she ran errands.

Gaga made quite the entrance earlier in the week when she arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in a netted custom Alexander Wang for Balenciaga kimono-style black and white gown.

She appeared to have sampled the same sort of look the next day, but hitched up the hemline and opted for a brighter, iridescent palette.

Her mini dress tied at the back to cinch her in at the waist and create a wrap effect, while the shoulders were adorned with lace and bead details.

The hitmaker teamed the look with simple white pointed heels and a heart print clutch, therefore a rather more toned-down choice of style to her usual 'running errands' ensembles.

Later in the day, as she arrived at LAX airport to fly out of the US capital, Lady Gaga again kept it relatively simple in an all-white outfit, adorned with delicate white feathers.

The Poker Face singer teamed her knee-length dress with the same pointy white pumps and strode the airport concourse with a bounce in her step.
Gaga flashed a smile upon arrival and looked fresh despite the long flight and a busy night.

Her red carpet outfit, featuring voluminous sleeves and embellished with feathers, was topped off with a beaded peacock-like headdress.

Gaga's date for the evening was prestigious designer Alexander Wang, who also accompanied her to the post-Gala parties.

The singer - real name Stefani Germanotta - later switched into a black jumpsuit with a plunging neckline as she hosted a star-studded afterparty that was attended by Madonna, Jennifer Lawrence, Miley Cyrus, Jessica Alba, Olivia Wilde, Zoe Kravitz and Amanda Seyfried.

'A night of magical moments, rocknroll and too much whisky,' she tweeted on Tuesday to her more than 46 million followers on Twitter along with a link to an afterparty photo of herself.

Gaga went on a whirlwind trip to the Met Gala, which is an annual fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute that has been chaired by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour since 1995.

The singer over the past weekend was spotted with her fiancé of three months Taylor Kinney at Zuma Beach in Malibu.

Gaga and 33-year-old Chicago Fire actor Taylor got engaged on Valentine's Day.

The singer has been taking advantage of a short break from her Cheek To Cheek tour with Tony Bennett with their next concert scheduled on May 25 in Vancouver, Canada.
