How to use a proxy server in Google Chrome

Follow these instructions to configure Google Chrome to use a proxy server.

Click the "Customize and control Google Chrome" button on the toolbar and then select Settings.


Scroll down the list until you see the "Show advanced settings..." link and then click on it.


Scroll further down the list until you see the Network settings, and then click the "Change proxy settings..." button.


On the Internet Properties window, click on the "LAN settings" button.


In the Local Area Network ( LAN ) Settings, un check the box that says "Automatically detect settings." And then, in the Proxy Server section, click the check box to enable "Use a proxy server for your LAN..."


Select the Use a proxy server for your LAN check box.

In the Address box, type the address of the proxy server.

In the Port box, type the port number.

If your network requires separate proxy addresses and port numbers for different services, such as HTTP, HTTPS, or FTP, click the Advanced button, and then type the individual proxy server addresses and port numbers to use.

When you're finished making changes, click OK, and then click OK again.

To stop using the Proxy Server, repeat the above steps, but uncheck "Use a proxy server for your LAN..." and recheck "Automatically detect settings" in the LAN Settings.
